PART TWO: A slightly more detailed look at people that need to specifically be mentioned.

  • Whitney:

I still can’t accept that you’re really gone. It seems like every day there’s something I want to tell you or talk to you about, and I can’t just text you or come over and see you anymore. You were someone I could talk to about anything for hours. I miss that. I miss going to take pictures or run around at the mall, like that day we went to see the last Saw movie, eat Chinese food, and went shopping. I remember trying on clothes with you and just having a good day, where we didn’t have anything or anyone else to worry about. I treasure the memories of that day as some of the most peaceful ones I have. I miss you. I wish that we could’ve had more days like that before you left this world. You were a beautiful soul, and my rock when I was too scared and weak to go on alone. I love you. Thank you for watching out for me.

It’s a little over two weeks until what should have been your 23rd birthday. I miss you, and it’s hard to believe it’s been 8 and a half years since you died. It still feels like yesterday we were sitting in your room, listening to music and talking, just like we always did. It was a few weeks before you died, and I remember how scared I had felt the 6 months before that – from the moment I found out on Christmas Day, all the way up to that day in June. And I remember leaving, and telling you I loved you and I’d come back soon. But I never did make it back before you died. It haunts me every day. I miss you, I love you, and I couldn’t ask for a better guardian angel. You’re my hero, and where I draw my strength from. I wouldn’t be alive today if it wasn’t for you.

  • Sam, Jake, John Ray, and Ryan:

The four of you, as well as Eric, were the most important people in my entire world for so long. And I don’t see any of you as much as you deserve. Sometimes it’s because it’s too hard. It’s a shitty excuse, but that’s how it is. I lost touch with John Ray because it hurt too much after his brother died. He reminded me so much of Eric, and I only ever wanted to tell him that I would willingly trade spots with his brother in a heartbeat if I could. I tried to keep up with the rest of you, and sometimes I do, but mostly we just talk online or text or something. I love you all still, but sometimes I can’t handle it. This is something I’ve realized the last few days. I do want to spend more time with you all, but I need to slow other aspects of my life down first. I’m too drained from work and illness to handle the extra strain on my heart and body. I’m sorry. Someday, it will be better again. Sam, we can go get nachos and mountain dew. Jake, we can hang out and watch movies and just be our old selves. Ryan, we’ll stay up all night on the phone talking about everything and anything. I’ll find John Ray someday and try again, but I’m not sure I’ll ever be strong enough. I love you all, and I don’t want to lose you. Ever.

Each way I turn, I know I’ll always try

Life is weird. I say this a lot, actually. Sometimes because my life is being weird, sometimes because the whole world is going insane around me, and sometimes as just a gentle fact. But here it is, staring me dead in the eye, being all weird and whatnot, saying “Behold my grand symphony of destruction and creation.” I’m just supposed to sit back and survive the ride, but I’d like to actually enjoy said ride. Even if it’s crazy. Even if I think I might die with every twist and turn. I need to grit my teeth and hold on and try to enjoy it.

Tonight I think I’ll walk alone

So, one of my very best friends – Skylar – is about to leave for the army, and it’s eating me up inside. I know she’ll be back. I know it’s for the best, and I’m so proud of her for being so brave and jumping out there int0 this great wide world. But it doesn’t change the ache in my chest, and it certainly doesn’t change how much I’m going to miss her. She leaves the day before Brittaney and I head to Orlando. Then, while we are in Orlando, the anniversary of Eric’s death will roll around. It’s going to be the first time I haven’t spent the 23rd of June at the cemetery, and I’m somewhat terrified. I guess a part of me is worried he’ll be let down. I know I’m worried about how I will handle it when the day actually comes. But I know that if I stayed here, dealing with Skylar leaving, Eric’s anniversary, and the approach of Whitney’s birthday… I couldn’t handle it. Not this year. Not right now. So I need to be away. Fate gave me an opportunity and I took it. Even though there is peace when I’m alone at the graveyard with him, I know that someday I will have to leave the land of the dead and learn to hold myself up as one of the living.

Something that helps me rejoin the land of the living: Going to the zoo with my maniac friends. Hell, adventures with them in general is just.. Yeah ❤

ZOONINJASCREEPSHOW

I failed miserably at finishing my manuscript in time for my self set deadline (well, I wasn’t off by too much until work got in the way), which is why I haven’t posted really for some time. I was trying my hardest to make sure I accomplished that. But, things happen. I’ll get it done. But first, I need to finish my photo shoots with Little Red – aka Skylar – before she leaves.

Plus, I’m learning to deal with the Mysterious Sickness of Doom — erm, my bad — Sjogren’s. But explaining that is a post all it’s own.

I HAVE RETURNED, MY LOVELIES! Sorry for my absence, but as you know, I ran away to Orlando for a few days – a MUCH needed vacation that really helped me feel a little better (could be the whole lounging about until 1pm or so before leaving for a couple hours, plus not having any real stress etc to deal with.)

I won’t leave you hanging! I took some pictures, and here’s some great parts of my trip for you:

All packed up to head to the airport.

The hotel I stayed at, The Disney Yacht Club.

My dorky self almost died when I saw Hogwarts. There were several times that I just stopped and stared at it, amazed.

Ate at the Three Broomsticks my first day there AND had my very first (and rather yummy) Butterbeer.

Day two, on a safari ride at Animal Kingdom. There’s nothing between you and the animals. This guy was trying to stick his head in our vehicle.

That evening, we went to Disney Hollywood Studios (aka MGM, but they changed the name it seems since I was last there. Lame.) The Stormtroopers were AMAZING. LET THE DANCING BEGIN!

From Day three, at the Magic Kingdom: My Favorite Disney ride since I was a kiddo – The Haunted Mansion. Rode it three times. 😀

Went back to Universal by day… four I think? Anyway… Beetlejuice AND the classic Universal Monsters?! YES PLEASE!

One of my favorite parts of the trip. The show was great, and the lobby was full of amazingness.

Last place I ate lunch at in Universal, and definitely a favorite. The inside was sectioned into themes based off of awesome old horror movies, and the line to order your food is designed like a mad scientists lab, and there’s busts of Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi, etc, as their classic monsters on the counter. So. Damn. Amazing. And the bathroom doors – as odd as it is to mention – were really cool. The women’s had the Bride of Frankenstein, and the men’s of course had Frankenstein’s monster.

Last but not least is my faaaavorite ride, The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman. I rode that sucker three times and wish I could’ve gone through more times. A Must-Do if you’re ever in Universal, Orlando’s Island’s of Adventure.
